About Us:
No More Falls Coalition
A collaborative effort starting in 2012

The No More Fall Texas Coalition is a non-profit
organization.  It began as a collaborative effort of some
of San Antonio’s leaders in the community to include
AACOG and Bexar AAA, AccesssAbility Home
Modifications, Deaf Link, City of San Antonio Disability
Access Office, Generations Senior Transitioning,
Project Mend and San Antonio Coalition for Veterans
and Families.  The No More Falls Coalition was
created as an initiative to help reduce the number of
falls among seniors, disabled Veterans and those with
disabilities.

The goal of the No More Falls Coalition is to educate
the community and create awareness on ways to
reduce falls.  One of the main objectives of the
Coalition is to gather data to demonstrate the need for
health insurances to pay for grab bars as a strategy to
reduce the number of falls.

Sixty percent of falls occur in the home, most often in
the bathroom.  Although some studies have
demonstrated that seniors have experienced falls at
home potentially associated with the lack of grab bars
in the bathroom, the No More Falls Coalition is
performing an Evidence Based Evaluation Study to
demonstrate the effectiveness of grab bars in reducing
falls.
